Walk in and sign up to speak for 5 minutes.  Prior to a meeting or at a meeting, ask clerk, secretary, or council members for agenda and/or copies of documentation pertinent to your concerns.
ONLY IF DOZENS OF TAXPAYERS ATTEND AND SPEAK AT THESE MEETINGS CAN TAXPAYERS HAVE AN IMPACT!!  IF YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT ATTEND, CONTACT YOUR CITY COUNCILMAN BY LETTER, PHONE, FAX, OR EMAIL.

The FY 1999-2000 City of La Vista property tax levy is 45¢ per $100 of valuation.  Taxes on a $100,000 home increased about $27.  The general fund budget increased by 25%, from $4.67 million to $5.84 million.
The FY 2001-2002 City of La Vista property tax levy is 45¢ per $100 assessed valuation. The owner of a $100,000 home paid $45 property tax, not factoring in the valuation increase.   The entire operating budget totaled $23.6 million, up 3.74%. 
The FY 2002-2003 City of La Vista property tax levy is 45¢ per $100 of valuation.
The FY 2003-2004 City of La Vista property tax levy is 49.35¢ per $100 of valuation.
The FY 2004-2005 City of La Vista property tax levy is 49.35¢ per $100 of valuation.  The operating budget totaled $6.6 million, up 8.2%.
